Throwing it back to autumn of 2024, I thought I'd update my list of creepy online media because I've added a couple of things to the rotation. The original post is here and I still engage with these creators' work, so go take a look! Amy Bruni probably least of all, but part of that is due to her production/release schedule, which I imagine is out of her control in a lot of cases.

This year, I'd like to add to the list of storytellers, researchers, skeptics, debunkers, and investigators:

  • The Tape Library: I found him a couple of months ago and I think I've caught up on almost everything? Such a calm, solid narration style and his research is thorough. Ghost stories, paranormal stories, UFOs, urban legends, cryptids... there's something for everyone who enjoys high strangeness. He also collaborates with people like Peter Laws, whose podcast/YouTube channel Into the Fog I very much enjoy! (If you're curious, he sounds kind of indigo to me.)
  • Outlore with Eleanor Neale: she's much more of a true crime than paranormal person, and was on a mental health hiatus for a while, but some of the cases she covers are eerie or mysterious. She's also a member of the queer community, and tries her best to champion underdogs as well as good causes. (Stephanie Soo has a similar vibe in those latter respects; I highly recommend her podcast Rotten Mango. It's rarely ghost-focused, though sometimes drifts into creepier stuff. I'm not a contemporary true crime fanatic, though I'm technically an expert in 19th-century true crime? Something about the lack of temporal distance unsettles me. But I make exceptions for Eleanor and Stephanie because they aren't lurid.)

And yes, Izzy Hands' voice still looks deep, deep green x
