happy lunar new year

It does feel like the new year should actually start in February for a whole host of mystical and natural reasons. This post is more of a quick catch-up than anything substantial because, my friends, it's been an interesting start to 2026!

I know I mentioned nausea being an issue in one of my last posts, so just to be awkwardly transparent as well as attempt to remove some stigma around the topic... as it happens, it's hormonal. I hate it. It's likely tied to a benign ovarian cyst, which should resolve on its own, and chronic stress, which is less straightforward.

I'm handling things and my medical professionals are excellent. We've sorted through various causes, and this is where we've landed. What sucks, though, is the omnipresent risk that it could flare up multiple times a month! It truly strikes moments after I've been fine. It's my third cycle of navigating this in the middle of life circumstances that I didn't choose, and I'm tired.

On that note, though, I've been seeing a lot of astrologers whose analysis and practice I respect explain how some of us are nearing the end of years-long cycles of relentless cosmic bullshit, which WOULD BE LOVELY. If you've met me between c. 2017 and now, you may be wondering why I gravitate towards chaos. I don't, and I sort of resent it having any impact on me, though I (think I) manage to bear it with grace.

Okay, great, you might be thinking, but where does all this leave my beloved writer pal, Camille?

To reiterate some of what I've alluded to in the recent past, and keeping in mind this fun new health development, a few of my priorities around Threads of Wyrd are:

  • Being active on socials where it makes sense for me (Papa needs buzz)
  • Exploring routes like optioning; I've made no secret of this being a dream of mine (it'll happen)
  • Focusing on this site and other alternatives to the mainstream SM conglomerates (hot take, perhaps, but they're becoming less and less useful for authors like me)
  • Expand with "cut scenes" and stuff, which I'll be sharing here (kind of like my Lennie vignettes)

That's all for now. But don't hesitate to message about hormones or how hot Alastair Gow is or how much you love my words, and enjoy your New Year if you celebrate x
